Batik for the World” was inaugurated on June 6, 2018 togetherwith the delegation of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia and the Permanent delegation to UNESCO for RI. Supported by the Bakti Budaya Djarum Foundation, Edward Hutabarat, Denny Wirawan and Oscar Lawalata displayed more than 100 batik cloths in an exhibition titled “Batik for the World”, that took place at the UNESCO headquarters from June 6 to 12, 2018. The event “Batik for the World” aims to create awareness on the preservation of Batik in the midst of 0ierce modernisation of the civilisation of Indonesia by arranging conferences on batik industrial sustainability and witness the intricacy of batik making from June 7-12.
With the rise of the modest fashion movement, and more and more luxury brands focusing on targeting this untapped market, “Modestissime” launched the first modest fashion show in Paris, at the iconic Hotel de Crillon, one of the most luxurious venues in the world in January 2018.
